Until the Violence Stops
I received an email the other the day from a friend and former colleague. She has just returned from Juarez, Mexico where she participated in a march for women. This from her email:

I was there to March with the womyn of Juarez, where almost 400 womyn have been raped, beaten and/or killed in the last 10 years and only one person has been tried. Otherwise, these atrocities have been largely overlooked.

This march was part of V-Day. V-Day came out of Eve Ensler's conversations with women who approached her after the early performances of The Vagina Monolugues. Those women were sharing their own experiences of violence. Shortly after V-Day was formed.

The 'V' in V-Day stands for Victory, Valentine and Vagina.

What can you do today? See the first documentary about V-Day "Until The Violence Stops" on Lifetime Television. The documentary airs tonight at 10pm.
