B&B’s
They say you are either a B&B type of person or you are not. I don’t feel strongly either way. I like B&B’s because they are affordable and some of them are really cool. My best experiences happen to be those I shared with an old love, but I don’t think it was just the company. Having your own entrance and cool décor are also factors.

A note about cool décor. If I ever decide that owning and running a Bed & Breakfast is a good idea I vow not to have any teddy bears or tacky fake flowers anywhere. Yes, even in a country B&B. OK, I am fine with a real stuffed teddy bear as long as it isn’t dressed in a blue dress and such, but no wall hangings/pictures things with teddies.

Places I have stayed:

Puffin Inn – Ogunquit, Maine. Slept really well here (room 6). Lovely breakfast nook.

Rustic Inn - High Springs, Florida. The Zebra Room was fun. It is a converted barn and the end rooms have fabulous private outdoor seating. The Zebra Room overlooked a beautiful field. The sheets were so soft. The bed was so comfortable. This is a big room with a futon that could accomodate more than 2 people.

Royal Street Inn & R Bar – New Orleans, Louisiana. Cool factor of getting keys, or an iron and such, from the bar. It is really a bed & beverage!
I have lovely romantic memories from here. If I were not with my guy I might have felt uneasy about the separate entrance right there at street level but he made me feel safe.

La Tienda Inn and Duran House – Santa Fe, New Mexico. Stayed at the Duran House. Loved the décor. Loved the building and the outdoor seating area. Price is right. I am always recommending this place to people. (I seem to know people that like to visit Santa Fe)

University Avenue B&B – Columbia, Missouri. The blue room has a very large bathroom, with a claw foot tub.
