My Blood Type
What do you all think of the blood type diet? Is there anyone out there that has actually followed this diet with success?
I am type A. I should avoid meat and dairy and get most of my protein from lentils, soy, and beans. Not so much of a stretch, in fact, it is what I have been doing for the last fifteen years or so. Only problem is I am not sure it has been the best for me.
I am trying hard to move away from soy, and possibly reintroduce meat into my diet (I have been eating a little bit of bacon, about once a month or two.) I have added yogurt back in. What I find hard about this diet are the other avoids.
Regular readers should know I love cocktails. I also love lobster and basically every other seafood listed in the avoid column. Add olives, eggplant, peppers, mushrooms and balsamic vinegar and I am not happy. Lunch today was falafel and a portobello mushroom. (although I don't usually eat falafel)
The scariest thing I learned when checking out the blood type diet is that my blood type is vulnerable to certian types of cancer. I am already at a huge risk for breast cancer (one of the reasons I am trying to taper off the soy) and according to a disease risk survey, I am also high for lung cancer. Now I have to add stomach cancer to the list?!
Oh, and check this out - I was actually able look up my horoscope by blood type.
Ah, the Internet.
