Heard on the DVD...

Zach Braff and Natalie Portman commenting on the final scene.

NP: This is so mean if anyone ever uses these lines on a girl they should go to hell.
(laughter) It's like the meanest thing ever.
ZB: ? What?
NP: To be like you've changed my life - see you later. You are the best girl. Bye.
ZB: He's saying, he's saying like...
NP: It's a shitty thing to do.
ZB: Oh right, but from characters point of view...
NP: Well you come back two minutes later, so it's sorta OK.
ZB: Well he has an Epiphany. But I think he is like, for me it's like - this is him pussing out again. You know what I am just going to get on a plane and deal with this shit later....

Natalie is right. It IS pretty shitty, and it hurts worse than hell. Watching a scene like this hits home. And you know what? No matter where I am right now or how much time has passed, it still stings.

considering he's supposedly been zonked the last 15 years, he was doing amazingly well dealing with actual feelings...

but yes, it was mean
Dave, Dave we need to have a chat a dinner tomorrow. :)
